A new arrival is East of Eden, a sweeping period drama based on John Steinbeck’s classic novel. Set in the early 1900s, it follows the turbulent Trask family across two generations as the fiercely independent Cathy Ames (played by Florence Pugh) drives a bitter rivalry between brothers Adam (Christopher Abbott) and Charles (Mike Faist), exploring themes of family, morality and free will.
An old, neglected scandal gains new power as Jodie Whittaker leads true-life drama Toxic Town about the 1980s Corby poisonings. It's a powerful tale of ordinary people on the end of a grave injustice, having to fight for their voices to be heard.
Guy Ritchie's crime-comedy drama The Gentlemen follows aristocrat Eddie Horniman (Theo James) as he discovers his inherited estate is home to a sprawling cannabis empire. With series two having recently arrived, there's never been a better time to dive into the witty, action-packed underworld.
You could try Crew Girl, a fresh teen drama that follows talented young rower Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) as she starts over at a prestigious prep school and joins its all-boys rowing team. The series blends sport, romance and high-school rivalries into an engaging coming-of-age story.
In Hostage, Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy go full throttle in a pacy political thriller that’s low on plausibility but high on action. The new-ish British Prime Minister (Jones) hasn’t been in office long when she’s faced with a crisis very close to home. She calls on the French President (Delpy) for help, but can she be trusted?
And there are still plenty of other options available on the platform. As well as mushc-loved hits such as Stranger Things, The Crown and Black Mirror, you could try fantastical horror Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, gritty Norwegian crime drama Jo Nesbo's Detective Hole or stylish thriller The Beast in Me.

Schitt's Creek creator Daniel Levy returns to the theme of familiar dysfunction in a new eight-part comedy about two mismatched siblings, with questionable skill sets, who blunder into the high-stakes world of organised crime. Preacher Nicholas (Dan Levy) and sister Morgan (Taylor Ortega) are implicated in a misguided theft for their dying grandmother. They are hunted down by bona fide criminal Yusuf (Boran Kuzum) and he blackmails the siblings into atoning for their sins, just as Nicky would advocate in a sermon to his congregation. The dithering duo's mother Linda (Laurie Metcalf) is potential collateral damage as they seek a way to settle their debts without landing themselves in prison. In 2011, author David Nicholls adapted his worldwide bestseller One Day as a film script for director Lome Scherfig, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess as doomed lovers who are destined to meet on the same day over a period of 20 years. A daring 14-part TV version promises to translate more of the heartache from page to screen, casting Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod as Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley, who speak for the first time on July 15, 1988, the night of their graduation. The following morning, they go separate ways as friends but fate binds the couple and conspires to bring them back together on the same summer day each year as they become older and - hopefully - wiser. Death, drug addiction and work commitments prevent Dexter and Emma from declaring their true feelings for each other across the decades
