The world's oldest golf tournament remains among the most prestigious and is worth much more than just the $17 million prize fund to eventual champions.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads with a 14-under score after three rounds – four strokes clear of relatively obscure Li Haotong.

Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick has racked up an impressive nine-under score to put him third in the list.

Rory McIlroy hasn't faired quite so well on his return to Northern Ireland, but a strong third round places him on eight-under and the fringes of contention.
