Tottenham Hotspur host Newcastle United in the Premier League's late kick off on Saturday with Roberto De Zerbi's side desperate to bounce back from their disastrous start to their league season.

Spurs suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at Brentford last Saturday with the Bees racking up 24 shots and eight shots on target.

Tottenham were without a couple of key players but given Spurs' summer spending - which will be over £350 million once Omar Marmoush follows Sávio through the door - the performance and result was disastrous.

De Zerbi's men beat Charlton 5-1 in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday to get their first win of the season as Spurs look to drastically improve on their 17th-placed finish last campaign.

Newcastle, who finished 12th last season, blew two leads against Liverpool in their Premier League opener as it finished 2-2 at St James' Park.

The Toon, who have had a summer of change with manager Eddie Howe and star men Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon all leaving, beat West Brom 3-2 on Wednesday night to book their place in the Carabao Cup third round and Matthias Jaissle will be hoping his side can build on their positive start on Saturday.
