The annual showpiece pits the Champions League winners against the Europa League victors for some early-season silverware.
PSG are the holders, having beaten Arsenal on penalties back in May, and will be favourites after proving the dominant force in European football over the past two seasons.
Villa beat Freiburg in the Europa League final to win their first continental trophy in 44 years and now have a chance to show their quality ahead of their return to the Champions League this term.
The West Midlands club won the Super Cup in 1982, beating Barcelona in what was then a two-legged tie, but the odds are against them this time.

Will the UEFA Super Cup final be available to watch for free?
No. As things stand, there are no confirmed plans for the UEFA Super Cup final to be available to watch for free.
TNT Sports holds the exclusive UK broadcast rights for the game and, as was the case last year, is not set to offer a free-to-air option.
The broadcaster came under criticism for its decision to move all three European finals in 2025/26, which included English teams, behind a subscription but did offer viewers the chance to watch those games via HBO Max from as little as £4.99 per month. However, that same deal is not available for the UEFA Super Cup.
