England enter their second Test against New Zealand in buoyant mood following a victory in their opening encounter.

Harry Brook led the way in the batting stakes with a marvellous 171 from 196 balls, while Brydon Carse racked up 10 wickets across the two innings with the ball in hand.

Christchurch-born Ben Stokes made a return to form in the first outing, while coach Brendon McCullum will be pleased to have recorded a victory in familiar territory.

Securing victory will be a major challenge for England given they haven't achieved a series triumph away from home since Pakistan in December 2022.
