The two-time former world heavyweight champion fights for the first time since December in another step toward his hotly-anticipated bout with fellow Brit Tyson Fury.
Joshua faces Prenga, who has a 20-1 record and has won all of his fights by knockout, at the Jeddah Superdome on Saturday.
The 6ft5 Albanian will pose a tough test physically but the 36-year-old should be able to show his class to line up the fight with Fury.
The card also sees fellow Brits Josh Kelly and Hamzah Sheeraz defend their titles ahead of the headline clash.
