Dr Caitlin Todd's (Caroline Harker) explosive argument with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) has taken a worrying turn in Emmerdale.

Earlier this week, Mack charged over to a hospital in Sheffield to challenge the surgeon, wanting to know why she blackmailed his wife Charity Dingle (Emma Aktins) for months, before sexually assaulted her.

Todd denied everything, and said that Charity was too ashamed to tell him the truth about their 'consensual sex' as it meant she'd cheated on him again.

She then decided to drop a bombshell, saying that baby Leyla, the child that Charity was carrying for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), was actually her own offspring with Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

What Todd didn't realise was that Mack was fully aware of the situation, and the fact that she'd blackmailed Charity for months. On this occasion, her attempt at a character assassination didn't work.

Furious at her blatant lies, Mack flipped. He threw stuff around her office, trashed her desk, and she secretly alerted security.

When they arrived, she implied that there was no issue and that Mack was a patient who had received some bad news. He decided to leave – but didn't go far.

When Todd finished her shift, she found him sat on a staircase listening to a voice note from Charity.

Approaching him, she revealed that with her being a respected member of the NHS, she'd never be charged with the crimes.

Mack was sickened, and warned that if she went anywhere near his wife again, he'd kill her.

Well, in true soap style, those words quickly foreshadowed what was to come. A flash-forward scene saw some police officers snapping away at a crime scene, firstly of a hand, a pool of blood... and then of Dr Todd's face.

When will Todd die, and was Mackenzie responsible?
