Several bombshells have been dropped in today's (29 July) episode of EastEnders.

The first of these concerned George Knight (Colin Salmon), who has been left conflicted by the death of his vile, adoptive father Eddie (Christopher Fairbank).
Earlier this year, George had one final confrontation with sick Eddie, who was responsible for the death of his birth father Henry Asare four decades ago.
Having exchanged cash with Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) so that he could spend his dying days in Albert Square, Eddie implied to his family that his stint behind bars had helped him reform, and that he deeply regretted his actions.
George was mortified to realise that, by allowing him to stay at No 1, he'd enabled daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) to be subjected to further racist abuse.

Wanting to protect his family from any further cruelty, George made the decision to refuse Eddie a glass of water when he began to choke on some pills. He stepped slowly backwards, watching him take his final breaths.
In this week's episodes, an old mate of Eddie arrived in Walford and questioned whether George was making the right decision by not allowing his father to be buried alongside his late mother Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell).
Partner Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) was refusing to engage with his worries, believing that he should be prioritising their relationship and care for daughter Ivy instead.

After visiting Gloria's grave alone, George began to drown his sorrows. Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) was concerned to see him in such a state, and despite her ongoing feud and blackmail with Nicola, offered a shoulder to cry on.
Blissfully unaware of the dangerous dynamic between Eve and his girlfriend, he confessed to killing his dad.
Will Eve use this as leverage against Nicola?

Meanwhile, across the Square, the Walford gossip shop was in overdrive amid Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) blossoming new friendship with suave councillor Clive Masters (Jason Durr).
Mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was thrilled to see something finally going well for once, and commented to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that it was "better than bedding a Mitchell".
Sharon looked visibly confused. She has no idea that, when she was holidaying in Florida, Linda had a brief fling with her ex-husband Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).
What will Sharon do when she learns the truth?
