Guilty, or not guilty? Sarah Platt's (Tina O'Brien) verdict has been reached in Coronation Street.

For months, viewers have watched Sarah struggle with life behind bars. In April, she clobbered abusive Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) over the head with some scaffolding, which resulted in him falling to his death. She then contacted Gary Windass (Mikey North), who helped to dispose of the weapon and kept quiet about the crime for months.
After weeks of denying all knowledge of the attack, Sarah was finally arrested and then charged with murder. While her copper boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) was more frustrated by the fact she'd confided in Gary rather than him.
The trial hasn't been smooth. Both Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) painted Sarah in a bad light, while Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) seemed to fail at convincing the court that she acted in self defence.
To make matters worse, Kit - who has spiralled in the wake of a stage three breast cancer diagnosis and guilt towards his one night stand with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) - gave a damning character assassination when he took to the stand.

He did, however, assure the court that his ex was incapable of taking someone's life and that she must've been pushed by Theo to commit the crime.
In today's episode, back in the courtroom, a sickened Sarah prepared for the worst. The barristers were giving their closing statements, while in the corridor, the usher announced to the Platt clan that a verdict had been reached by the jury.

As her nervous family and friends; Bethany, Todd, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) bit at their fingernails and closed their eyes in anticipation, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
The reaction from Sarah was one of great elation, celebrating that she can now return to the cobbles and be reunited with young son Harry (Joshua Leavy). Bethany, however, knew that there was a chance that her life may never be the same again.

Expecting Kit's baby, the secret will eventually be exposed - it's the nature of soap. She glanced across the room at Kit, who, at present, doesn't know about the unborn child.
When the group returned home, Bethany prepared to make a booking for an abortion clinic, while Sarah begged for another chance with Kit. He said that it was too late - and that he was about to move in with mum Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove).
When will the secrets be spilled?
