A huge secret about Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) has been revealed in Coronation Street.

There's not an awful lot we know about the newcomer. He landed in Weatherfield and reconnected with distant cousin Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), before striking up a relationship with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). We also know that he's a landlord, owning a property in Weatherfield Precinct.
At the time of his casting, producer Kate Brooks told Radio Times and other media: "He is very, very charming, the charm oozes out of every pore of this guy. He’s a savvy kind of business guy, he's got a bit of a ruthless streak, he is prepared to get his hands slightly dirty, and he can charm the birds from the trees.
"He's funny, he's handsome, and he ruffles a lot of feathers, but he's not without an edge."
She continued: "He’s not soft, and he's certainly no pushover. He butts heads with some of our more alpha kind of characters quite early on."

This has transpired as a small feud with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who has agreed to work on behalf of Idris's disgruntled tenant Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine).
In today's episode, Alya was snowed under at work. She was trying to juggle her legal career and watching over family restaurant Speed Daal, and Idris could see that she was struggling.
He suggested that she might like to sell her share of the business to him, though she seemed reluctant.
Alya explained that it was always brother Zeedan's dream to own it, and that she'd only inherited the responsibility when grandmother Yasmeen had decided to move to London.

Idris then dropped a huge bombshell. He said that he wasn't her cousin, but actually her uncle. Yasmeen's wayward husband Sharif had an affair with his mother, and therefore he's the late Kal's half-brother.
Leanne found much amusement in the fact she'd been with both brothers. She was also surprised to learn that Idris hoped the revelation would make Alya realise that she didn't have to show allegiance to Yasmeen - who was apparently aware of his paternity - anymore.
If Alya was to turn her back on Speed Daal, he'd be quids in.
What will she do?
