Soaps fans looking for their Coronation Street and Emmerdale fix on ITV tonight (21st March) are out of luck, as neither will be airing on the channel to make room for the World Cup Qualifier.

The football coverage will begin at 7pm, with kick-off at 7:45pm, which knocks the soaps off from their usual slots.

However, as a result, fans were treated to more soap content than usual earlier this week, with Emmerdale airing from 7:30pm to 8:30pm last night (Thursday 20th March).

Meanwhile, Coronation Street treated fans to an hour-long dose of the series on Wednesday (19th March).

Sarah and Kammy sat down opposite each other looking cosy.

All episodes from this week are all available to watch on ITVX already, with plenty of drama going on in both Weatherfield and Emmerdale village.

Over on the cobbles, Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) finds himself face-to-face with ex-fiancé Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) as he suggests that the pair should start a new life together.

Meanwhile over on Emmerdale, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) is led astray by bad boy Kammy (Shebz Miah), as the pair race stolen quad bikes, provided some much-needed joy for Sarah after recent weeks.
