And with that, another season of gripping Apple TV sci-fi show Silo has come to an end.

The third run of the series, which stars Rebecca Ferguson and is based on Hugh Howey's series of books, reached a dramatic conclusion in its tenth episode, while also setting up a final chapter for Juliette and the other residents of Silo 18.

But is there a fourth season on the way, when could we expect it to arrive and who from the cast is likely to return for the new episodes?

Read on for everything you need to know about Silo season 4.

Will there be Silo season 4?

There will! In fact, we've known for quite some time that Silo would be getting a season 4, as the show was renewed for both seasons 3 and 4 back in 2024.

Sadly, season 4 will be the show's final run, with Rebecca Ferguson having revealed as much before the renewal even came through.

She told Collider in April of that year: "The books are the books. It's three books, and the three books are divided into four seasons."

When the renewal was announced, showrunner Graham Yost said in a statement: "It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons.

"With the final two chapters of Silo, we can’t wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos."

Meanwhile, Ferguson said: "I’ve loved every minute of bringing Juliette to the screen and am immensely proud of what we’ve all created with Silo since the first episode. I have always felt passionately about telling the entire story contained within Hugh Howey’s books, so I couldn’t be happier that audiences around the world have enthusiastically embraced the show.

"Alongside our parters at Apple, Graham, and the entire cast and crew, I cannot wait to dive into these final two thought-provoking seasons that will beautifully conclude this dystopian tale."

When it comes to season 4's story, Yost teased that it will be an "emotional" and "harsh" batch of final episodes when speaking with David Opie, exclusively for Radio Times.

" In season 4, people you love don't make it," Yost said. "Season 4 is the battle for survival and victory and all of that. So yeah, it's different."

He continued: "I will tell you this, from the jump in season 4, Juliette knows who she is, and Juliette is full Juliette from the opening scenes on."

Yost then added: "It's a harsh season. But it's emotional."

When will Silo season 4 be released?

We don't yet know for certain when Silo season 4 will debut, but speaking with Radio Times, Yost gave us a sense of a timeline.

Speaking about the ending of season 3, he said: "A year from now, you'll see season four, and there is a lot of cruelty at the heart of this thing. Seeing Daniel and Helen being separated during a nuclear explosion… We pay that off in season 4. You will find out what happened to Helen."

Season 3 started airing in July 2026, and seasons have typically taken around a year and a half to debut. We would therefore suggest that a release date in the second half of 2027 seems likely - although that's yet to be confirmed.

Who will return to star in Silo season 4?

We don't yet have a confirmed cast list for Silo season 4, but we're expecting all of the central cast to be back, including Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette, Common as Robert Sims and Tom Robbins as Bernard Holland.

However, there are two characters who most likely won't return, as Jessica Henwick's Helen Drew and Matt Craven's Victor Crnkovich perished in the season 4 finale.

Here's a list of the stars and characters we are expecting to see back in Silo season 4:
