We are reunited with tormented Jason Dessen (Edgerton) as the fallout from his journey across parallel realities plays out, with secrets to be gradually unravelled as part of a staggered release schedule by the streamer.
Our Dark Matter season 2 review notes that the show can't quite recapture the spark of the gripping first outing, with Radio Times' sci-fi and fantasy editor Louise Griffin expressing doubt over its supposed three-season plan.
She writes: "The ingenuity of the original run can't be replicated and, having gone beyond its source material, the plot meanders and struggles to push the (brilliant) initial premise much further." Ouch!
