The greatest football-centric sports anime is undeniably Blue Lock, which is currently airing season 2.

This season, teen football hero Yoichi Isagi and his teammates face their biggest challenge yet.
Like so many sports anime dramas in the past, Blue Lock is all about underdog athletes battling to make their name and beat their opponents. The show focuses on a groundbreaking football programme run by eccentric coaching genius Jinpachi Ego, who wants to transform Japan's national team from notorious failures into world champions.
Ego's strategy involves recruiting and training up the best striker in the world – and little-known high school athlete Yoichi Isagi is one of the candidates.
Season 2 sees the footballers in Ego's Blue Lock programme compete against against Japan's official Under-20 team. It's a dramatic challenge for Yoichi Isagi and his cohort, but the season has faced criticism for the quality of its animation, with many fans saying season 2 looks noticeably worse than its predecessor.
Recent episodes have covered the backstory of the Itoshi siblings and fans will be eager to see new instalments to see if there's any threat of favourite characters being subbed out of the team.
Regardless, here's everything we know about the Blue Lock season 2 release schedule.
