The Academy Award-nominated actor best known for his roles in Jurassic Park and, more recently, Wicked, will host the first episode of the show's second outing. He is the first host to be announced for season 2, following the inaugural season earlier this year in which the likes of Nicola Coughlan and Aimee Lou Wood were among those to present.

Alongside Goldblum as musical guest for the premiere is CMAT, the acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter who has continued to rise in popularity over the past year.

She was recently nominated for international artist of the year at the Brit Awards 2026, and released her third studio album, Euro-Country, in 2025.

Broadcast live each week, the series will once again welcome a different celebrity host and musical guest for every episode, alongside topical sketches and a British take on the show's Weekend Update segment.

SNL UK returns for season 2 with the first six episodes airing on 12 September, 19 September, 26 September, 10 October, 17 October and 24 October, with further shows planned for early 2027.

The sketch show was renewed for a second season earlier this year, with episodes upped to 12 from eight in the first season.

Speaking of the renewal news, SNL creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels said: "I'm incredibly proud of our team and the show. It keeps getting better every week. I'm grateful to Dana Strong and Sky for believing in and supporting SNL UK. I'm excited for the season ahead."

Phil Edgar-Jones, executive director of unscripted originals at Sky, added: "It's fair to say people doubted SNL would work in the UK, but thanks to Lorne Michaels, his longtime Saturday Night Live producing team and UTAS UK, alongside our brilliant cast and writers, SNL UK is Sky's most talked about show of the year.

"It's now firmly part of the cultural conversation and we’re thrilled the show will be returning in the autumn, bringing laughter and mischief to our audiences, live from London on a Saturday night!"
