Is Rick Astley Traffic Cone?

The Keith and Paddy Picture Show - Rick Astley

Rick Astley (ITV/Talkback, FT)

Traffic Cone appeared with a version of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up on Sunday night’s episode of The Masked Singer (2nd January).

However, many fans have predicted a big twist and suggested that the song was chosen to throw viewers off the scent – and that it will turn out to be Rick Astley himself behind the mask.

Whether the song choice was a bluff remains to be seen, and fans will have to keep watching to find out who the famous face is.

Sir Tom is a regular fixture at ITV thanks to The Voice, so signing him up to the show would be fairly simple - if he agreed to do it, that is.

"Traffic cone is Tom Jones he sounds Welsh and the name nearly rhymes," said one fan on Twitter. That may be clutching at straws a little, but we aren't ready to rule Sir Tom out of the running just yet.

Is Aled Jones Traffic Cone?

He's known for walking in the air, but has Aled Jones also decided to walk onto the stage of The Masked Singer?

"He's not admitted it, he's not mentioned it at all, but I'm convinced that is my mate Aled Jones," said fellow singer Russel Watson on Good Morning Britain, and many fans of the show seem to agree with him. Not only that, but Aled has a tour taking to the road next month – a stint on a primetime ITV show would certainly be good for publicity.

Is Rob Brydon Traffic Cone?

Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon is a favourite choice for many to be under the Traffic Cone costume – he certainly has the sense of humour needed to take part in the show. Twitter seems to agree with one saying: "It is Rob Brydon! He’s had an argument with the Japanese embassy in 2011 and also had a sitcom linked to him called Candy Chops in 2015."
