It's a showstopper – but not in a good way.

Roku has reportedly cancelled the American version of The Great British Bake Off after four seasons on The Roku Channel.

The Great American Baking Show, which made the move to Roku in 2022 after five seasons on ABC, featured Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith as judges and was presented by Casey Wilson and Andrew Rannells.
Previous hosts have included former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Severance actor Zach Cherry and The Office star Ellie Kemper.
Now, according to Broadcast, the show has not been renewed for more episodes. Radio Times has approached Roku and production company Love Productions for comment.
The decision comes a year after Roku and Love Productions agreed to an expanded content deal and original spin-offs, including various celebrity specials – all of which have now aired.

The same deal also made previous seasons of The Great British Bake Off available to American viewers, alongside other Love Productions-produced formats The Great Pottery Throwdown and The Great British Sewing Bee.
Like the UK original, The Great American Baking Show follows amateur bakers through the signature bake, the technical bake and the showstopper challenge in each episode.
The 2026 run was also set to be a farewell of sorts. Leith, who joined the UK Bake Off in 2017, announced in January that she would be stepping away from the wider franchise, including the US spin-off.

The upcoming UK season will see Nigella Lawson join the tent, as she takes over from Leith.
Announcing her appointment, Lawson said she was "at a loss for words" and "intimidated" to follow Leith and Mary Berry, but "filled with enthusiasm" at joining what she called a "national institution".
The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 later this year.
