Richard Madden is set to lead an intense new streaming thriller, in which a London hospital is raided by terrorists as the UK's Prime Minister undergoes an important surgical procedure.

Trauma will follow ex-Royal Marines medic Jim Marchant (Madden), who becomes a one-man army against the nefarious group, fighting his way through the hospital to save the captives – including No. 10's as-yet-unspecified resident.
No further casting has been announced just yet, with plot details also being thin on the ground, meaning we can only speculate over the conspiracy that results in the nightmare hostage scenario.
Deadline reports that the series is a co-production between Prime Video (which nabs UK and Ireland distribution rights) and Paramount+ (distributing in other international territories).

Geoff Bussetil (of Netflix's Prince Andrew drama Scoop) has penned the scripts for Trauma, while Daniel Syrkin (of Paramount's MobLand) is attached to direct.
Of course, this won't be the first time that Madden has played a tough man close to power, having previously earned a Golden Globe for his performance in Bodyguard – where he played the troubled protector of Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes).
Madden and Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio currently have another project in the works – a Netflix series titled Trinity – which follows a suspicious relationship between a heroic Naval Officer and the Secretary of Defence.
The actor first rose to stardom with high-profile roles in Game of Thrones, Cinderella and Medici. Madden has since appeared in acclaimed war drama 1917, Marvel's Eternals and the Prime Video series Citadel.
Filming on Trauma is due to commence in October, so expect further details on plot and casting to be disclosed in the coming months.
Trauma is coming soon to Prime Video UK and Ireland. Sign up for Amazon Prime for £8.99 a month.
