We're at the halfway point in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry now and things have completely changed for our protagonist Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson).

So far, the series has delivered many an emotional moment with the shock death of Calvin Evans (Lewis Pullman) at the end of episode 2, a thoughtful depiction of grief through the eyes of Calvin and Elizabeth's dog Six-Thirty and now, we see Elizabeth as a new mother.

The fourth episode, Primitive Instinct, delivers the twist we've been anticipating from episode 1 and we finally learn just how Elizabeth came to be hired to front her own cooking show.

We also get introduced to her daughter Mad, played by Alice Halsey, who certainly takes after her mother in the intelligence and bravery department.

The new eight-part series, which is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus, is set in the early 1950s and follows Elizabeth, whose dreams of being a scientist are continually faced with the hurdles put in place by the men who are in charge.

While the first two episodes chronicled Elizabeth's work at Hastings lab and mapped out the sweet love story between Elizabeth and Calvin, we're on course for more drama in future episodes, as Elizabeth now has to deal with the very new reality of being a single mother about to embark on entirely new career.

The fourth episode ends on quite an intriguing note so, naturally, fans will start to wonder just when episode 5 will land on the streamer to see what lies ahead for Elizabeth.

Read on for everything you need to know about the release schedule for Lessons in Chemistry and when you can expect episode 5 to land.
