Anthony Boyle (House of Guinness) leads the eight-part series as Ryan, a man employed to test the fidelity of his wealthy clients' partners.

His latest assignment sends the lives of an "ambitious group of thirty-something Londoners" into chaos, as his "deception gives way to desire, and Ryan risks breaking the one rule that has always defined him: never fall in love".

Charmer also stars Siena Kelly (Black Mirror), Connor Swindells (SAS Rogue Heroes) and Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) as the targets of Ryan's latest booking.

Bridgerton's Polly Walker has also joined the cast, alongside Sam Delich (Ten Pound Poms), Vivian Oparah (Dead Hot), Neil Maskell (Hijack), Karan Gill (Frauds) and Sophie Simnett (So Long, Marianne).

Created and written by newcomer Thomas Aspell, Charmer is directed by Rivals and Ted Lasso alum Elliot Hegarty, with Sky promising "an exploration of trust, desire and the pursuit of authentic love" in the buzzy new series.

Boyle commented: "I'm thrilled to come on board and play Ryan in Charmer, working alongside such incredible talent. Tom's scripts are fantastic, heartfelt, funny and smart. I can't wait for people to meet the characters that Siena, Connor and Sophie create."

Executive producer Simon Hatton, for Working Title Television, described Charmer as "a seductive way into the thorny heart of contemporary love".

He added: "Part thriller, part romance, it asks unexpected questions about trust and desire, and what happens when the heart overrules the head."

The series is now filming at Sky Studios Elstree and will premiere on Sky and NOW in the UK and Italy. Other international territories are still to be determined, with NBCUniversal handling global sales.

Charmer is coming soon to Sky TV and NOW. You can sign up to NOW from £3.99 a month.
