New episodes of the Blue Bloods spin-off will be launching on CBS in the US on Friday 9 October, airing at 10pm.

The confirmation was made by the network as part of their major new slate for the upcoming Fall season.

Boston Blue follows Wahlberg’s Danny as he trades New York for a new life as an investigator in the titular Massachusetts city.

He is joined by Star Trek Discovery’s Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays his new work partner, Lena Silver.

Lena, just like Danny, has her own legacy within the force she is standing in the shadow of, with her mother Boston’s District Attorney, her brother a cop-in-training, and her grandmother a Superintendent.

The case-of-the-week series is tied together by an overarching plot, which is set to continue into season two following a cliffhanger season one ending that left one of their loved ones’ lives hanging in the balance.

Boston Blues is part of a massive slate announced by CBS for the Fall season – with the network having a premiere week starting from 5 October.
