Few shows have settled into the autumn schedule quite as comfortably as All Creatures Great and Small, and its future is secure for a while yet.

5 and PBS Masterpiece renewed the Yorkshire-set period drama for both seasons 7 and 8 back in late 2025, giving fans the reassurance that the warm world of Skeldale House is going nowhere soon.

Now that season 7 has wrapped up in the UK, attention has turned to what comes next.

Here is everything we know so far about All Creatures Great and Small season 8, including when it might air, who could return and where the story might go next.

Season 8 has been officially commissioned, but neither 5 nor PBS Masterpiece has announced a premiere date.

Plot details for season 8 are being kept under wraps, but the most pressing question is: what does the future hold for Siegfried and Mrs Hall?

But Siegfried didn't tell Mrs Hall why he had ended things. Will he take the plunge and confess his feelings? And how will she respond if he does?

And it remains to be seen what will happen with Tristan, who has just started a job with the Ministry of Agriculture, and Charlotte, who is currently in New York with her sister.

They were still together when she departed, but are they built to last?

Season 7 also marked a period of transition, with modern veterinary medicine and agricultural machinery beginning to unsettle established ways of life. That is likely to continue in season 8.
