Is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder returning for season 3?

Here's everything we know so far about A Good Girl's Guide to Murder season 3, including when it could be released.

Pip stands in her bedroom, turning toward a cluttered noticeboard covered in photos, notes and keepsakes. Warm, low lighting creates a tense atmosphere as she looks shocked or alarmed, suggesting she has just discovered something unsettling. The room is filled with personal touches, while the blurred posters and pinned memories in the background hint at her investigative nature and emotional connections.

When Connor's brother Jamie disappears in season 2 of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Pip has no idea that the investigation she reluctantly takes on will lead her down such a dark path, uncovering a twisted revenge plot linked to a child serial killer.

Fortunately, Jamie emerges physically unscathed — although he's unlikely to ever forget what he was pulled into – but the same can't be said for Pip.

"I think she’s a bit checked out [by the end]," Emma Myers said of where we leave the amateur sleuth. "She has definitely lost hope in every single person who said they would help her. She’s had to do everything herself again, and it hasn’t turned out the way she hoped."

Myers went on to say that she relates to that aspect of Pip's character "on a personal level as well".

"She comes easily to me – especially her dark side."

Yes! In June 2026 it was confirmed the show will be returning for a third season, covering the events of the third book, As Good As Dead.

However, this comes with a catch: these will be the final episodes of AGGGTM, with the story reaching its conclusion in line with the books.

But that doesn't mean that it will be an easy ride to the finish line for poor, determined Pip.

On the announcement, Emma Myers, who plays Pip and is an executive producer on the show, said: "I'm very happy that we get to bring everyone series three of A Good Girl's Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout!

"This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget.

"Book three is my favourite of all the books, so I'm very excited to show everyone what we've done. Get ready for a crazy time!"

When could potential A Good Girl's Guide to Murder season 3 be released?

It's currently not been confirmed when season three is set to be released – but there is some good news! The third season has already been filmed.

While there was a two-year wait between the first two instalments, the fact the upcoming episodes have already been shot means that they'll be able to fast-track release so fans don't have to be so patient this time.

With any luck, the upcoming episodes could be released by the end of this year, or in early 2027.

On the series three announcement, writer and author Holly Jackson teased it was her "favourite season" and that we're heading towards a "bloody conclusion".

"As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too," she said.

"You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny."

In As Good As Dead, the third and final instalment of Jacksons's A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder book trilogy, Pip is "haunted by the way her last investigation ended".

"Soon she'll be leaving for Cambridge University but then another case finds her... and this time it's all about Pip," continues the official synopsis.

"She is used to online death threats, but there's one that catches her eye, someone who keeps asking: who will look for you when you're the one who disappears? And it's not just online. Pip has a stalker who knows where she lives."

But while the police refuse to step in, Pip gets to work and uncovers "connections between her stalker and a local serial killer" who has been in prison for six years, but as with the Andie Bell case, she thinks the wrong person has been found guilty.

"As the deadly game plays out, Pip realises that everything in Little Kilton is finally coming full circle. If Pip doesn't find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears..."

No pressure, then.
