This upcoming sixth season ventures across the pond to the UK as our leads Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Sheen) will be investigating the shock death of podcasting rival Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), who was working on breaking a royal scandal.
Well, it's now been revealed that further familiar British acting legends are joining the sixth season, along with Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner.
According to Variety, Sherlock's Martin Freeman has now joined the cast along with comedian Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats), Anjana Vasan (Black Mirror), Jane Horrocks (Bloods), Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) and Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey).

As filming gets underway in London, this week already saw the announcement that the iconic Jennifer Saunders, Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley and Bad Sisters' Sharon Horgan are also joining the cast.
Sean Teale (The Gold), Amar Chadha-Patel (The Decameron), Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) and Matthew Beard (Funny Woman) are also recent additions.
Michael Cyril Creighton will also reprise his recurring role as Howard, but it remains to be confirmed whether or not Da’Vine Joy Randolph will be returning as Detective Donna Williams, after being spotted on set throughout season 6's filming.

As is usually the case with Only Murders in the Building and its cast announcements, nothing has yet been revealed about any person's characters, whether their roles will be a cameo or a fully fleshed-out person for the trio to come up against. We may have to wait patiently but it certainly adds to the excitement!
Filming kicked off for the new season back in May of this year so seeing as we've been enjoying a yearly release of new episodes, we'd hedge our bets that season 6 will be coming our way sometime in 2027.
As for what will unfold, it'll likely be another playful and twisted turn for the books as Mabel, Charles and Oliver are left to investigate Cinda's death. While the murder once again unfolded in the Arconia, the search for answers only takes them to the UK, where it would seem that Cinda's story about the 'girl with the curls' really takes shape.

Her new podcast was all about the girl in question, who was accused of murdering a descendant of the royal family and although everyone had demonised her, Cinda believed she was innocent. Believing that the best place for her to reside was America, fans then got a shock as it was revealed that the 'girl with the curls' was actually Cinda herself.
So, it's safe to say that we're set to uncover a whole lot more about Cinda in this new season – with a positively starry cast set to really bring this story to life.
