Almost equivalent to chapters in other games, the Biomes in Saros represent the various levels you'll traverse throughout your journey across the planet Carcosa.

Housemarque's last game, Returnal, had a total of six Biomes, with each chock full of nasty enemies looking to end your run.

So, if you're wondering how many Biomes there are in Saros, and what to expect from them, here's what you need to know.

There are nine total Biomes in Saros, including your hub world, The Passage.

Excluding The Passage, each Biome contains a boss, a set amount of Halcyon, Audio Logs and Text Logs to collect.

Here is a list of all the Biomes in Saros:

1. The Passage
2. Shattered Rise
3. Ancient Depths
4. Shattered Descent
5. Blighted Marsh
6. Desecrated Fortress
7. Acolyte's Haven
8. Cathedral
9. Yellow Shore

The Passage

The Passage in Saros's hub world, so you could potentially exclude it from this list, but we've popped it on here anyway.

As the hub world, it's the only Biome that doesn't have a boss or any collectibles.

Instead, you'll find some NPCs from Echelon IV to chat with, as well as the Banyan Tree, where you can unlock upgrades and skills, check your modifiers, and fast travel between Biomes.

Of course, given the nature of Saros's gameplay, requiring you to do multiple runs, it will probably take you a while and multiple tries to collect everything available in each Biome.
