The Fallout 4 next-gen update is here, and PS Plus owners were left wondering why they couldn't install it while other PlayStation players and those on Xbox and PC could.

As can be seen in its patch notes, the update brought with it sharper visuals and better performance for the consoles, but it was missing for PlayStation Plus players.

This has now changed, according to Bethesda.

All PlayStation Fallout 4 players should now be able to upgrade to the next-gen version of the game.

Aside from the broken PlayStation update, it’s not been a much better situation on PC, as it appears to break things such as mods and adjusting the graphics options on the Steam Deck.

It’s also delayed the much-anticipated Fallout: London – but hopefully the team can get a quick fix in.

Read on to find out exactly what happened with the Fallout 4 PS Plus next-gen update and whether you can download it now or not.

If you were playing Fallout 4 via its PlayStation Plus release, you should now be able to upgrade to the shiny new next-gen version of the game along with everyone else.

As Bethesda puts it in the X post above: "Subscribers who have previously received Fallout 4 from the PlayStation Plus Collection should now be able to access the update as intended."

This is Bethesda, though, and this update was already messed up once, so fingers crossed the patch works for you!

This hasn’t been an issue for Xbox Game Pass players, so Xbox players, you've had nothing to worry about.

Now, get out there and start playing the Fallout 4 next-gen update on your PS Plus copy of the game.
