After 15 years, it has finally been confirmed that Fight Night, the infamous boxing series of the early 2000s and 2010s, is set to make a comeback.

The last instalment in the series was Fight Night Champion in 2011, which saw universal critical acclaim but was not enough for EA to continue the franchise.

Taking to X, EA Sports confirmed the revival in a social media post that simply reads: "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back."

In the original series there were five Fight Night games, which included boxing legends like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, among so many other big names.

But Fight Night isn’t EA Sports's first boxing series, as Fight Night was the spiritual successor to Knockout Kings which was popularised in the '90s.

Although this is incredible news for Fight Night fans who have been in the dark for so long, it also makes sense for EA as a company, considering there is a huge gap in the market for boxing games right now.

And, coupled with the fact EA were purchased by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund last August in a $55 billion deal, it’s no wonder that the series is being pushed back into the spotlight as Saudi Arabia is notorious for hosting huge international boxing matches.

But whatever the reason, fans can finally look forward to a new Fight Night game. We still don’t have a release date window or any knowledge of what platforms the game will be on, however this should hopefully be revealed in due course.
