The first of two Jobs to be added to Final Fantasy XIV as part of the Evercold expansion has been been confirmed.

The fact that two Jobs were on the way were first announced at April's Fan Festival in Anaheim, California, though no specific information was released at the time.
Now, as part of his keynote speech to open this weekend's Berlin Fan Festival, producer and director Yoshi-P revealed that the first of these Jobs is the Tank, Bastion.
The reveal came alongside a short teaser trailer showing off some of the Job's kit.
With a design blending high fantasy and mechanical aspects, the Job will be a Main Tank, and as was confirmed as part of Anaheim's Fan Fest, players will only be able to use the new Evolved combat mode.
Bastions are armed with twin shields known as Skyltborg, which beyond being used as a defensive tool are also armed with cannons on one end.
Players will be able to play as a Bastion from Level 90 onwards, and will be available in Limsa Lominsa.

According to lore revealed alongside the trailer, the Bastions are "heritors of the ancient martial techniques" developed by rulers of the archipelago of Aerslaent.
Furthermore, "it is said that no raider's axe can penetrate a Bastion's hulking Skyltborg – and one would be foolish to try, for these shape-changing greatshields' aethereal artillery has brough a swift end to many a marauder, be it from near or far."
As well as its offensive and defensive capabilities for the wearer, the Skyltborg allows players to apply curative effects and boons upon their party members.
It's the first Job to be confirmed as part of the Evercold expansion, the sixth major expansion to come to FF14, and the first since Dawntrail two years ago.
Unfortunately, we won't be getting news of the second Job to come in Evercold, with Yoshi-P confirming that further information will come during Tokyo Fan Fest later this year.
