This kaiju-sized activation, which does feel a tad late to be tying in with the Godzilla vs Kong film from last year, is one of the major moments in Call of Duty's third season of crossover content between Warzone and Vanguard.

Most CoD fans are starting to look ahead to Modern Warfare 2 and the Modern Warfare 2 beta, the next full game in the franchise, but this seems like an interesting distraction in the meantime.

So, what is the Godzilla CoD event and what else do you need to know about it? Read on to find out!

When does the Call of Duty Godzilla vs Kong event start and end?

The Call of Duty Godzilla vs King Kong event began on 11th May at 9am PT, which was 5pm BST here in the UK time zone.

This limited-time mode won't last forever, though. Activision has already announced that the Godzilla vs King Kong event will end on

What is in the Call of Duty Godzilla vs Kong event?

The main part of the Godzilla vs Kong event is Operation Monarch, the limited-time mode that is available to play in Warzone now.

Playing in quads (aka teams of four), players must compete to be the last team standing, and there is also Monarch Intel to be collected - you can get this intel from your fallen foes and supply boxes. The intel charges up a bar that will allow you unlock kill streaks and loadout drops.

The official Call of Duty blog notes: "While collecting intel and eliminating enemies, Operators will need to watch out for Kong and Godzilla. Dealing damage to them will award additional Monarch Intel, and while they usually don’t get too aggressive, they will be dangerous during a Titan Frenzy."

You can take your appreciation for Kong and 'zilla to the next level by dressing up as them. There are bundles in the store that will allow you to look like King Kong, Godzilla or even MechaGodzilla. And who wouldn't want that? The mech one is quite cool, to be fair.

There is also talk of Warzone returning to Verdansk at some point, on certain platforms, which will be welcome news to anybody that didn't jive with the Pacific Caldera map in quite the same way.

However, no plans for Verdansk to return in season 3 have been announced at this stage. We'll keep you updated as we hear more, though.
