The return of classic prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was one of several notable changes in 2024's Call of Duty release.

Developed by Treyarch, Black Ops 6 features the innovative Omnimovement mechanic alongside a wealth of new Mastery Camos to unlock in Multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Prestiging in Black Ops 6 adds an extra layer to reaching the highest level and takes plenty of time to complete in full.

To prestige in Black Ops 6, players must reach level 55.

Rather than waiting for each season to launch to reach the highest level, all 10 prestige levels and Prestige Master are available as soon as the servers are switched on.

Like previous Call of Duty games, activating prestige doesn't come without risks.

How many prestige levels are in CoD BO6?

Black Ops 6 features 10 prestige levels.

Once players reach level 55 prestige 10, they unlock 1,000 additional levels, along with the chance to earn the title of Prestige Master.

The levels on the path to Prestige Master boast a range of exclusive rewards, ideal for those who want gear to flex their skills on the virtual battlefield.

What are permanent unlocks in CoD BO6?

Every time you enter prestige in Black Ops 6, you earn a permanent unlock token that can be spent however you like.

It's a single unlock token which remains available throughout each prestige, meaning you can use it to unlock your favourite weapon or a perk that's particularly useful.

Once the 10 prestige levels are completed, earning permanent unlocks stops, as you'll have everything at your disposal.

Once the 10 prestige levels are complete, you'll earn access to become Prestige Master, where an extra 1,000 levels are available to work through.

For every 100 levels, you'll get a chance to choose a prestige icon from previous Black Ops games for another layer of customisation.

In addition to the ten Prestige emblems unlocked for working through all the levels again, there are others from previous Call of Duty titles you can equip after reaching Prestige Master.

Black Ops 6 features 25 Prestige emblems from one to nine from numerous games so you can choose your favourite one.

Prestige 10 has 121 emblems to select, making it a tough choice as to which one you select.

Is it worth Prestiging in CoD BO6?

If you plan on playing a lot of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, entering Prestige is a worthwhile option, even though it resets your unlocks.

On the other hand, if you don't have a lot of time and only play a few times a week, remaining at Level 55 with everything available could be your option.

There's no right or wrong answer. Some prefer grinding through the levels, while others only want to climb to the top rank once.
