CoD BO1 and CoD BO2 have been spontaneously released on PS4 and PS5, although it is only a surprise if you haven't been following the leaks for the last few weeks.

While many fans were hoping for some kind of remaster or visual upgrade, these versions of the game are simply ports. They actually remove more features from the original PS3 version of the game than they add.

Some aspects like Wager Matches and Studio Mode are gone, and fans haven't been too happy. But, given the modern enhancements in games these days like crossplay and cross-progression, you may be wondering if Iron Galaxy have added these features to the ports.

Here is what we know now that both games are out.

Does CoD BO1 and CoD BO2 have crossplay on PS5 and PS4?

CoD BO1 and CoD BO2 do not have any form of crossplay on PS5 and PS4. These games only allow you to play with other players on the respective platform. This also means there is no crossplay with the original PS3 version.

Additionally, the matchmaking pool is split between those who own the DLC and those who don't, given that the maps are paid and not free like modern Call of Duty games.

It is unlikely that Iron Galaxy or Activision will add crossplay, either, given that the games aren't remasters. So, you will have to hope the servers stay populated on PS5 and PS4.

Does CoD BO1 and CoD BO2 have crossplay on Xbox and PC?

Like the PlayStation versions of the games, CoD BO1 and CoD BO2 do not have any form of crossplay between Xbox platforms or PC. The games only allow you to play with the pool of players on the platform. Xbox does work slightly differently, as the game is playable on Xbox Series and Xbox One via backwards compatibility, but you are still technically playing on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

The game doesn't have any connection between the Xbox, PC, or PS5, PS4, and PS3 versions of the game either.

We will update this article if crossplay is added to these games but given they are more than 10 years old, with Black Ops approaching 20 years old, we wouldn't hold our breath.
