Rich Keeble, who plays Monoco in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has weighed in on the game's multiple endings, even offering a jokey option for his own 'canon' ending pick.

Keeble is the latest guest in our Arcade Hang interview series, with the second part of our conversation now being available on YouTube. In this chunk of the chat, we also talk about his iconic awards show outfits.
Spoiler alert! Stop reading now if you don't know what happens at the end of the game.
Fans of Expedition 33 won't need reminding that the game offers the player a choice between two potential endings.
In Maelle's ending, the player consciously decides to keep all the main characters alive within what is essentially a fake world; in Verso's version, the illusion is shattered and reality restored, but that means several characters cease to exist.
In terms of his own take on the Clair Obscur endings, Keeble admitted that his feelings have changed over time.

When the game was freshly released, he said: "Me and a couple of other people from Kepler would joke that Maelle's ending is the correct one. Everyone's just living happily ever after. Everyone's back, everyone's together, and why would you choose Verso's ending?"
However, time takes its toll, and Keeble has met a lot of fans who think differently in the year since the game's launch. He told us: "I've met more and more people who choose Verso's ending.
"I've met a lot of people who play the game twice with each ending. But it does seem that Verso's ending is the most popular because you're just getting on with real life. Healing and dealing with stuff.
"But the beauty of the game is that there is no right ending. It's just like real life, you know? Things are complicated."

He then went on to detail a third potential ending, a comedic option which was suggested on the Carbot Animations YouTube channel and has since emerged as a fan favourite.
In Keeble's words, "Of course, there is the Francois ending, which was introduced by Carbot Animations. It's an ending where Maelle and Verso are arguing over the ending, and then Francois comes in and just does the strongest ice attack ever. I mean, to me, that is the canon ending."
So there you have it, folks. It wasn't about Maelle or Verso's wishes, after all. The game ends with Francois attacking both of them... and let's just agree on that being the canon ending, shall we?
