Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 swept up gongs aplenty at The Game Awards and The Golden Joystick Awards late last year, which means the game is now seeing a surge in players.

If you’re one of those people jumping into E33 right now, you might be wondering how many chapters/missions/quests are in the game, and how it’s all divided into acts and the like.
Well, expeditioner, here’s some good news for you! We’ve got all the info you need below to help you understand where you are in the game and what’s coming up. Let’s get to it.
How many acts does Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have?
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has three main acts, and one prologue that comes before.
Each act is named after a specific character, with numerous quests being strung together as you gradually make your way across the map to the Paintress.
It’s worth noting that the third act is a little shorter than the first and second ones. So, if you’ve just started act three, you’re pretty close to the end now.

Before we get to the full list, here’s a quick warning: the E33 missions are named after each ‘current objective’, so you won’t want to look too closely at anything beyond your current position on the list (especially if you’re not fond of spoilers, no matter how vague).

Prologue: Gustave
- Lumiere: Head to the docks and start the Expedition
Act One: Gustave
- Spring Meadows: Look for survivors at the indigo tree in Spring Meadows
- Flying Waters: Find Maelle and search for a path through Flying Waters
- Ancient Sanctuary: Find the Gestral Village in the middle of the Ancient Sanctuary
- Gestral Village: Ask Golgra, the Chief of the Gestrals, for a way to cross the sea
- Esquie's Nest: Find and recruit the legendary Esquie at Esquie’s Nest, he should be able to help cross the sea
- Stone Wave Cliffs: Cross the Stone Wave Cliffs to find Florrie, Esquire pet rock that enables him to swim
Act Two: Verso
- Forgotten Battlefield: Go through the Forgotten Battlefield to continue to the Monolith
- Monoco's Station: Recruit Monoco, Verso’s best friend, at his station in the mountains.
- Old Lumiere: Find and destroy the Paintress' Heart in the centre of Old Lumiere
- Visages: Defeat the First Axon to forge a weapon able to pierce the Monolith Barrier
- Sirene: Defeat the Second Axon to forge a weapon able to pierce the Monolith Barrier
- The Monolith: Find the Paintress' Heart at the top of the Monolith
- The Manor: Epilogue
Act Three: Maelle
- Lumiere: Head back to Lumiere and expel Renoir from the Canvas
