With the price of components and computers such as the Steam Machine shooting through the roof owing to the memory pricing crisis, it’s only natural to find yourself nervously glancing at your dusty old rig, wondering if it can handle the latest AAA games.

AC Black Flag Resynced looks to be an Assassin’s Creed game you don’t want to miss either, as we found it to be far from a cash-grab re-release in our preview – something the devs also believe. It’s hardly a surprise, though, given it’s a remake of one of the best games in the series.

But, with your timbers shivering as we speak, let’s crack on with it and see whether or not ol’ faithful can handle the shiny high seas!

Is Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced Steam Deck Verified?

Yes, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is Steam Deck Verified.

Developers Ubisoft announced this on Steam, saying: “Not only does the game look and run great on Steam Deck, but our developers have worked hard on features like raytracing across all platforms,” meaning we should get a fairly good visual experience.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows ran fairly well on the Steam Deck, but Black Flag Resynced looks to use a slightly older or different version of the Anvil engine, so performance could be a bit better.

They have not indicated a level of performance or at what settings, but the system requirements are slightly lower than those of Shadows. We can assume that upscaling will be in use, but we can perhaps expect a frame rate closer to 40FPS.
