The recent tradition of Radio 2’s New Year song countdown continues with the king of rock ‘n’ roll, ahead of what would have been his 90th birthday on 8 January. Vernon Kay presents the top 40 Elvis songs, as voted for by listeners.

Later Elvis is viewed through a Welsh prism, with Cerys Matthews recalling her youthful memories of the King at 7pm and then, at 8pm, Owain Wyn Davies visiting an Elvis tribute act festival in Porthcawl.
