Several recent series have shown that following a well-known figure on a reflective stroll through the countryside can make for excellent viewing. Previews weren’t available for this walk in North Yorkshire with former England footballer Paul Merson but in previous documentaries he has shown a willingness to bare his soul and discuss the scars on his mental health left by drink, drugs and an addiction to gambling that upended his life more than once.

So we can expect emotional moments as Merson walks through picturesque villages and across farmland, reflecting on the role that religion has played in his recovery, and how love and therapy have helped him through some dark days.
