Summary

Joe Lycett is joined by Alan Davies to sample an action-packed weekend in Trieste, northern Italy. Trieste is famous for the Bora, the north-easterly wind said to shape the city and its inhabitants. Joe and Alan discover this at the Wind Museum, where curator Rino presides over a collection of wind samples donated from all over the world. A few miles north the pair enjoy a food and fizz pairing in the village of Prosecco. Fortunately, they're in the right place for hangovers as Trieste is Italy's caffeine capital. No mini break is complete without learning a new skill to brag about when you get home, so Joe and Alan attend a painting class

Joe Lycett’s wheely suitcase is back, packed and ready for more weekend getaways. A new run of comedic minibreaks begins with QI stalwart Alan Davies in the northern Italian port of Trieste. The pair soak up the city’s history and visit The Wind Museum (no sniggering at the back) while a few miles north lies the village of Prosecco, so it would be churlish not to sample some local fizz.

They then medicate their hangovers in the famed Caffè San Marco, once frequented by James Joyce. Keen to return home smugly with a new skill, the intrepid duo also enrol in a painting class and take riding lessons on Lipizzan white horses.
