A jaunty French documentary tells the story of one of France’s most intriguing criminal cases of recent years: two pilots for a luxury airline were among those arrested in the Dominican Republic in 2013 when it was discovered that their private jet, which was bound for St Tropez in the south of France, had more than half a ton of cocaine on it, stashed in 26 suitcases. When they were released on bail, they fled back to France – yet these two suave but otherwise ordinary men didn’t fit the profile of major drug traffickers.

What was going on? And why would former president Nicolas Sarkozy be among the programme’s interviewees?
