Review

Jane Rackham

He’s become such a fixture on our TV screens at this time of the year, it’s hard to imagine how we once managed to cook our Christmas dinner (as well as cater for unexpected guests, festive parties and so on) without Jamie Oliver’s culinary help. However, over the years he has given us loads of brilliant tips and clever recipes as well as inspired many of us to try something deliciously different. 2024 is no exception.

His garden room kitchen couldn’t look more festive with so many garlands of twinkling fairy lights, mistletoe, candles and holly wreaths, it’s a wonder he finds space to cook. There isn’t a turkey in sight though — chicken/ sausage/bacon kebabs and cheesy filo parcels with a cranberry dip are as traditional as he gets in this edition.

Intriguingly, he’s also making a cauliflower lasagne and a sticky toffee coffee pudding. The latter is probably easier to make than to say.
