You know what you’re getting with Guy Ritchie, and you get it exactly as expected in his first TV series, loosely spinning off from his own movie. A young duke (Theo James) inherits his family’s sprawling estate, and with it a drugs business he didn’t know was there.
As he enters the criminal underworld, reluctantly at first but then with increasing aplomb, the show is a familiar morass of silly nicknames, even sillier plots, big characters, regional stereotypes and Vinnie Jones. Groundbreaking and sophisticated it ain’t, but it knows how to have fun.
