Solicitor Matthew Larrabie, young and wet behind the ears, is raring to right wrongs when he joins his uncle’s law firm, but is soon disappointed by the line-up of dyed-in-the-wool criminals waiting for representation. So the romantic Larrabie enlists the help of beautiful barrister Penny — clearly selected by something more persuasive than the usual “cab rank rule” — to help defend the case of a quintessential “wronged little man”.

This rediscovered legal romp by prolific Doctor Who writer Terrance Dicks builds to a neat twist and opts for the broader comic tone of the Doctor in the House series over the verbal jousts familiar to Rumpole of the Bailey fans.
