Summary
The truth could inspire page-turning fiction in an eight-part thriller created by X-Files writer Howard Gordon. Acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) has been unable to access her creativity since the death of her young son. She has retreated from private life and is a ghost of her gregarious former self. She is sparked back to life by the arrival of a new neighbour, real estate mogul Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), who was once the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance. Aggie believes Niles' incredible past could be repurposed for a new book and she begins an obsessive hunt for the truth about the mogul's wife. She unwittingly kickstarts a game of cat and mouse with a formidable adversary that might turn deadly

“Woman has suspicions about creepy neighbour” is a drama genre in itself, but this is a steely and stylish take on the thriller; one that’s given extra heft by reuniting Claire Danes with the co-creator of Homeland.
Aggie Wiggs (Danes) is a once-successful author who has become something of a misanthrope following the death of her young son. Having been in limbo both creatively and socially, the ground shifts when Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys) moves in next door. She’s both intrigued and frightened by this charmless property magnate who was all over the news following the mysterious disappearance of his wife. She eyes a possible bestseller in offering to write her next book about him. But in doing so, is she putting herself in danger? And did he kill his wife?
Danes and Rhys spar superbly in a pacy and addictive drama that has Jodie Foster and Conan O’Brien behind the camera as executive producers, plus features a supporting cast including Natalie Morales (Grey’s Anatomy) and Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad).
