Picture this: you’re walking down a dark street when someone who looks exactly like you kidnaps you and steals your entire life. What do you do next? That’s the mind-bending terror that physicist Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) faced last season in this thrilling adaptation of Blake Crouch’s 2016 novel, which explores the road not taken. This second season now ventures beyond the realm of the book for an intriguing sequel set across various worlds.

Having encountered a legion of Jasons from hundreds of different realities, the “real” Jason, his wife Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and son Charlie (Oakes Fegley) have escaped to the perfect world… or so they think.

Soon after, a violent encounter makes it impossible for them to stay, but when there’s endless possibilities for where to turn, where do they go next? After all, finding a new home becomes tricky when you factor in having to avoid other versions of yourself at every turn.

Meanwhile, after being abandoned in a utopian (but, let’s face it, deeply boring) world, Amanda and Ryan (Alice Braga and Jimmi Simpson) forge an unlikely alliance built on revenge, and Leighton (Dayo Okeniyi) sets off down a dark path.

The biggest danger to all of them, however, is a menacing new character who’s searching for answers – and will stop at nothing to get them…
