Review

Jane Rackham

For the three well-known people that Sally Phillips talks to in this series of films for Advent, Christmas isn’t just about turkey and tinsel. It’s a time to reflect on the enormous changes they have gone through in their lives.

She starts by taking Rev Richard Coles back to the church pew where he first found his faith and where he describes – frankly and sometimes with humour – his most joyful and most sorrowful moments including the death of his beloved life-partner David and the significance of Christmas to him. Future programmes feature Strictly judge Shirley Ballas and poet Lemn Sissay.
