Türkiye v Paraguay

Summary

Türkiye v Paraguay (Kick-off 4.00am). Semra Hunter presents coverage of the Group D match at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara, USA. Both sides need something from this fixture, with Türkiye abject in their 2-0 defeat to Australia, and Paraguay blown away by the USA in their opening contests. There has only been one previous meeting between these nations, a 0-0 draw in a 1995 friendly, but Paraguay will hope to emulate their results against European opposition in the group stage at their last World Cup appearance in South Africa in 2010, when they drew 1-1 against Italy and defeated Slovakia 2-0 on their way to finishing top of Group F. They subsequently overcame Japan in the last-16 via a penalty shootout, but then fell foul of a European nation in the quarter-finals, when they lost 1-0 to eventual champions Spain. With analysis from Juan Mata and Jobi McAnuff
