Episode 3: Series 9, Episode 3

Summary

Hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond and judges Cherish Finden and Paul Hollywood are joined in the tent by Alex Brooker, Ambika Mod, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Vicky Pattison and Sam Thompson. The celebrity bakers must make mini rolls and syrup sponge puddings, and recreate the most iconic outfits they've ever worn in choux form

Review

Jane Rackham

“If they’re edible, I’ll be happy,” says Paul Hollywood as he tastes the celebrities’ decorated mini rolls. He’s probably wise to set the bar low but Cherish Finden’s face as she samples Sam Thompson’s offering speaks volumes.

However, they’re all keen to do well. As Vicky Pattison jokes: “One minute you’re just doing a nice show, the next you’d sell your nan for a Paul Hollywood handshake!” The showstopper challenge is to make outfits out of choux. Noel Fielding points out that’s “choux” not “shoe”. No footwear but there are Nativity outfits, a jungle crown and a dinosaur. It’s fun but, as ever, there’s a heartbreaking film to remind us what this is all about
