Review

David Brown

For the uninitiated, Stranger Things is an 80s-set “kids-versus-monsters” fable series, based in the fictional Hawkins, Indiana, of the kind that Spielberg might have made post-ET. But this is no mere nostalgia-fest: it has a sense of wonder all of its own and a knotty ongoing conspiracy plotline that continues to grow new tendrils.

It’s a show rightly beloved by both Gen-Z and those old enough to have lived through the 1980s era it portrays.
