Review

Sarah Doran

What happens when we die is just one of many issues tackled in this fantasy comedy. When Eleanor (Kristen Bell) wakes up in the afterlife, she’s shocked to find she’s in a selective suburban paradise, created by Michael (Ted Danson). He claims it’s her reward for living a good life, but Eleanor knows she’s been very bad, so must have been sent there by mistake.

Danson steals scenes with ethereal ease, but it’s the twist in the tale (and a strong supporting cast) that makes this unmissable.
