British children’s author Julian Hartswood (Ben Miller) is about to have quite the day. On a signing tour of Australia, he falls victim to online “cancellation” when he inadvertently re-tweets a neo-Nazi: “How was I supposed to know?” he protests to his wife and illustrator Ingrid (Sally Phillips). “He didn’t have any of the gear on!”
As the couple scramble to salvage their promotional engagements, they end up making everything worse, thanks to Julian’s clumsy arrogance. Then, however, a young autistic man named Austin (Michael Theo) introduces himself, and his conversational opener is a doozy: he believes he is Julian’s long-lost son. Could Austin solve all Julian’s many issues?
