Ryan Murphy assembles a cast of nepo babies – Homer Gere (son of Richard), Kaia Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s daughter) and Daniel Dale (Alan’s son) – for this teen drama, adapted from Bret Easton Ellis’s 2023 autofiction novel.

It’s 1980 in hazy LA and Bret (Igby Rigney) is in his final year of prestigious Buckley. While his friends prepare for college life, the aspiring author finds himself captivated by two things: a serial killer called The Trawler and the strange new boy at school, Robert Mallory (Gere). Tense mind games play out between the boys, who size each other up as both dangerous rivals and potential love interests.

It’s an alluring drama with darkness, debauchery and death that’s delivered almost perfectly by Murphy.
